BIO

Francesca Soana was born in Parma in 2000.

​

She is studying Composition under the guidance of Maestro Luca Tessadrelli at the Conservatorio “Arrigo Boito”  in Parma, where she is currently enrolled in the three-year academic course in Composition.
In 2021 her "Three elaborations by Alfredo Casella" for chamber orchestra are performed by the Orchestra Arturo Toscanini Orchestra dell'Emilia-Romagna as part of the "OERAT incontra i giovani talenti" concert.
In 2022 the Brescia Musical-Mente Association commissioned her to write a piece for ensemble and arrange other pieces as part of a Suite dedicated to the UN 2030 Agenda.
In 2023 she collaborated with the percussionist Gianmarco Petrucci as part of the project "Prohibited Tapes", creating an arrangement for vibraphone and electronics of the "Concerto pour vibraphone et orchestre à cordes" by Emmanuel Séjourné, with the collaboration of Francesco Marai (sound designer).
She attended Composition Masterclasses with José Manuel López López, during which the piece “Crocevia” was performed, and with Gabrio Taglietti.
In October 2023, the orchestral piece “Videte et exsultate!”, Racconto in musica del Natale di Greccio, for orchestra, baritenor and reciting voice is performed by the orchestra I Musici di Parma, with the conduction of Arturo del Bo and the participation of Eugenio Maria Degiacomi (baritone) and Paolo Rossini (reciting voice), on the occasion of the eight hundredth anniversary of the celebration of the Nativity in Greccio in 1223.
